Up to XV century
THE RULERS OF TIRANA ‘S AREA
• The Topia’s family up to the XIV century.
• The Kastriot’s family up to the XV century.
With Skanderbeg death, the territories of his invasion with center in Kruja were constructed and depopulated and still they were abandoned by taking the forms of the village levels. In these circumstances starts and opens the way to another center, whose weight is continually augmenting. It is about TIRANA.
RULERS OF TIRANA
(The familiar ruler of the family Bargjini from (1614-1800).
• Sulejman BARGJINI—PASHA
• Ahmet Myftar BARGJINI –PASHA (son of Sulejman )
• Ibrahim BARGJINI –PASHA (son of Ahmet)
• Ahmet BARGJINI—PASHA (son of Ibrahim)
The familiar ruling of Bargjini is interrupted, because Ahmet BARGJINI had no sons. KAPLLAN TOPTANI- PASHA takes the rule. The four girls of Bargjini marry the four sons of Kapllan PASHA.
The center of Sub-Prefecture Kruja –Tirana passes to Tirana in 1807.
Ruling was gained by marriage in 1807.
Kapllan TOPTANI –PASHA (Ruler of Kruja) (dies in 1816)
The rule is taken temporally by:
• Haxhi Et’hem BARGJINI –BEJ
(From the clan of Bargjini, but not an heir)
(He rules from 1817-1822 when Toptans take the power)
• Abdurrahman TOPTANI –BEJ
(He rules from 1822-1837)
• Ahmed TOPTANI –BEJ
(The son of Abdurrahman TOPTANI)
(Rules from 1837 -1865)
The administration from the CHIEF of the family ends up.
The citizen’s role of the FIRST increases.
In 1865 reorganizing Vilajets reformed the Turkish administration.
The Vilajet of Shkodra –equivalent—The county of Shkodra.
The Sanxhak of Durrës -- equivalent – The Prefecture of Durrës.
The Sub prefecture of Tirana.
This administration continues up to 1912 with the proclaiming of Independence.
From 1913 Tirana is administrated by home Mayors, which this year compile 90 years of Albanian local administration.
